We at Walturn have always harbored a culture that espouses the values of nurturing, supporting, and encouraging growth. Whether it be emerging startups or the local developer community, our motto has always been to create an environment that is conducive to their growth in all aspects.

In March 2022, Walturn proudly sponsored Flutter Festival held at NIC Karachi. The event was a huge success and attracted Flutter enthusiasts from all over Pakistan.

In July 2022, we co-sponsored Lahore’s first ever Flutter Meet, which was attender by over 200 Flutter enthusiasts and gave an optimal opportunity for devs to engage in networking and gain insights about Flutter 3.0, Freelancing, Dart etc. from GDG developers, leading Engineers and startup founders.

Continuing with the same zeal and zest, we are proudly supporting this year’s DevFest.

What is Google Developers Group?

Google Developers Group (GDG) is part of Google’s developer community program that has 1,000 chapters across 140 countries, developers from all levels and diverse backgrounds.

GDGs are an excellent opportunity for you to develop synergy with developers near you. Not only developers, people from diverse backgrounds, various companies, non-programmers, all are welcome to be a part of GDGs.

GDG Live Pakistan is one of the leading communities and is organizing the DevFest 2022. Through programs organized by Developers Group, you can learn about a range of technical topics and gain new skills through hands-on workshops, training, events, talks, and meetups, online and in person.

What is DevFest and what to expect?

DevFest is a one-day virtual conference which will be followed up by a series of in-person meetups in various cities across Pakistan.

It is the largest flagship event of the year for developers, designers, and techies from all over Pakistan! This one-day festival will feature multiple sessions on a variety of tech topics, communities, and projects, as well as swags and fun activities. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just getting started in the tech world, DevFest has something for everyone.

There will be talks on Google technologies (Android and Flutter) and how to solve problems using these technologies. DevFest 2022 is crafted to quench the thirst of techies from those cities where DevFest conference hasn't happened before so don't forget to select your favorite city while registering.

You’ll then be able to implement your programming knowledge and skills to build innovative products and help your community in growing and learning as well. Together this year, we will rejoice in our theme of Diversity and Inclusion to reconnect digital creators and tech heroes of Pakistan.

After the conference concludes, there will be a series on in-person conferences held across different cities. This will be an excellent opportunity for developers to expand their networking and stay updated about the latest Android and Flutter happenings.

After a meet and greet and introduction, the first talk of the day will be delivered at 6:30 pm by Farah Mehboob on ‘ML on Google Colab’. This will be followed by a talk on ‘Web Technologies + Chrome DevTools’ by Arsalan Khattak.

Other topics on the event’s agenda include ‘Passive Income for Designers’, ‘Explore SOLID principle in Android’, ‘Maximize your reach through Google Ads’, ‘Architecture your Flutter project with MVC’ and ‘What’s new in Angular’.
