Hub71 is a tech startup ecosystem based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It was launched in March 2019 by the Abu Dhabi government's investment arm, Mubadala Investment Company, in collaboration with Microsoft, SoftBank Vision Fund, and Abu Dhabi Global Market.

Story

The aim of Hub71 is to support tech startups and entrepreneurs from around the world by providing them with access to funding, mentorship, and a collaborative community. Hub71 offers a range of programs and initiatives to help startups grow and succeed, including an accelerator program, an incubation program, and a residency program.

In addition to providing support for startups, it also serves as a platform for collaboration and innovation, bringing together investors, corporations, and startups to foster partnerships and drive growth in the technology sector. The ecosystem is focused on key sectors such as healthcare, transportation, fintech, and smart cities, among others.

Challenge

Based on its commitment to bridging the gap between startups and investors, Hub71 was dedicated to building a web portal that could be used by startups, investors and its own team members. However, they faced a significant challenge in building a portal that could effectively serve the diverse needs of these three groups.

Startups needed a platform that would allow them to connect with investors and showcase their ideas, while investors needed a tool to efficiently screen potential investment opportunities. At the same time, Hub71's team members required a platform that could manage and track the various activities of startups and investors in the ecosystem. The team needed to streamline the process for service providers accepting the requests of startups too.

The challenge for Hub71 was to design and develop a web portal that could effectively cater to the needs of all these groups while maintaining a seamless user experience. The portal had to be intuitive, secure, and easily accessible by all stakeholders, with features such as a dashboard for startups to track their progress, a messaging system for investors and service providers to communicate with startups, and a central repository of resources for all users.

Moreover, the portal needed to be scalable to accommodate the growing number of startups and investors in the ecosystem. This was crucial to ensure that the platform could continue to support the community's growth while maintaining its high standards of quality and performance.

Overall, the challenge was to build a comprehensive, user-friendly platform that could serve as a one-stop-shop for startups, service providers, partners (investors), and Hub71's team members to collaborate and drive innovation in the technology sector.

Our Process

Our app development team carried out the project and brought it to completion within the stipulated time frame. Our developers exhibited great dedication and teamwork to achieve the following outcomes:

  1. Design Strategy:

Our developers followed a user-centered design approach, focusing on usability, functionality, and aesthetics to ensure a seamless user experience for faculty members

  2. Visual User Interface:

Our team developed an intuitive and visually appealing interface that simplifies the faculty's use of the platform, making it easier for them to create and manage content

  3. Full Stack Development:

We used the ReactJS and Typescript to build the Hub71 web app and Golang for the backend infrastructure, ensuring a scalable and secure web app

  4. Quality Assurance and CI/CD:

Our team conducted rigorous quality assurance testing to ensure the platform's performance, reliability, and security. We also implemented a continuous integration and deployment process, enabling us to rapidly iterate and deploy new features.

What do Our Engineers Say?
